Professor Axel Honneth to join the Philosophy Department in 2011
We are delighted to announce that Axel Honneth, currently Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Institut für Sozialforschung (originally home to the so-called Frankfurt School) at the University of Frankfurt, Germany, will join the Philosophy Department of Columbia University. Professor Honneth will come on a Mellon appointment and will hold the newly established Jack B. Weinstein Chair in the Humanities. The appointment will be effective beginning with the Fall 2011 semester.
